Child soldiers in spotlight as Mindanao battle rages
The Bangsamoro
Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) - a
splinter group of the Muslim
separatist Moro Islamic Liberation
or MILF - was recently filmed here,
in a video submitted to Children of
War. Shot in their base in Mindanao,
this video is alarming because of
the vision of child soldiers, some
look as young as 10 years old,
carrying AK47s, armalite rifles. We
are calling on the government, child
advocacy groups, and the Filipinos
to condemn BIFF in using child
soldiers. Let everybody pressure
Umbra Kato's group into demobilizing
these innocent kids!
